Lovely New Orleans đźŽ¶

Our big high school band trip was to the Birthplace of Jazz, and this may be my favorite city of all. It’s so full of life and things to discover. We saw so much in a few days, and I look forward to going back someday!

At the Riverwalk Marketplace, we shopped, had a few meals, and performed for the public. This is where I tried alligator (it’s like a mix of chicken and pork) and fell in love with it! I also had crab fingers, popcorn shrimp, hush puppies, artichoke/spinach/shrimp dip, jambalaya, and cat fish fingers.

Cruising the Caribbean

This trip is one of my favorites and always will be! It was so much fun and I got to see many wonderful places with my family. This ticked a few countries off my “see all the countries of the world” list.

We left out of Miami, which is somewhere I would like to go back to someday to see more of the city. I guess I have a thing for palm trees. 🙂

Day 1

We saw a bit of the ship, and there was a parade to kick off the voyage.

Disneyland Dreaming

My first big trip and first time on a plane was to Disneyland in California. This is a true family vacation destination, and my family had an amazing time! It’s such a dreamy place and I’m an adrenaline junkie, so I rode every ride that I could. I was only 9 years old, but I rode a lot of rides by myself when my family was too chicken to come with me!

We stayed at the Anabella Hotel in Anaheim and I loved all the cool trees they have there.

Las Vegas Adventure

I turned 21 this April, so my awesome parents took me to Vegas! We had a great time exploring the Strip and went on an adventure to Ethel M Chocolates and Cactus Garden one afternoon. Mom and Dad: thank you, thank you, thank you for this fun trip and the memories we made!

I hadn’t been on an airplane since 2011, so it was cool to see the teeny tiny things of the world again. Nevada had cool, circular agricultural plots – it was neat to see the different ways we ag in different climates. (Excuse my ag geekery.) The mountains were their typical beautiful and majestic selves, and I love me some clouds.

We flew early on a Sunday morning, so then we had all day to explore. My parents had been to the city twice before, but there was still a lot they hadn’t seen, so it was great that we got to do that together. I had done quite a lot of searching on Google before we went, so I had a list of things I really wanted to see and do. (Spontaneity clearly isn’t really my thing…)
